1 new COVID-19 death reported in North Dakota

 BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations, and vaccinations as of Saturday, April 10. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from at some point to subsequent.


Statewide case rates

NEW CASES: 215

  • TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,237
  • TOTAL CASES: 104.701
  • TOTAL RECOVERED: 101,993

DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 5.5%

Fargo's Cass County recorded 98 new COVID-19 cases. Bismarck's Burleigh County and Grand Forks County reported 27 and 18 new cases, respectively. Minot's Ward County totaled a dozen new cases. Mandan's Morton County reported seven new cases, while Dickinson's Stark County added six.

Five or fewer new cases were reported in Barnes, Benson, Bottineau, Eddy, Golden Valley, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McHenry, McKenzie, McLean, Mountrail, Ramsey, Ransom, Richland, Steele, Stutsman, Towner, Traill, and Walsh counties.

Cass County's 470 active cases led the state by a good margin, as other urban counties have posted considerably fewer active cases in recent weeks. By comparison, Burleigh County had 178 active cases Saturday and Grand Forks County had 163.

Hospitalizations, deaths

  • ACTIVE HOSPITALIZATIONS: 32
  • NEWLY-REPORTED DEATHS: 1
  • TOTAL DEATHS: 1,471

The state reported one new COVID-19-related death, however, identifying information about the deceased couldn't be determined.

While active cases are on the increase among younger individuals within the Fargo area, it hasn't increased hospitalization or death rates. The state reported 18 total deaths in March, the fewest reported since April of 2020.

Thus far, four deaths are reported this month.

Vaccinations

  • THE FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 257,225
  • COMPLETED SERIES (Two doses): 191,596

A total of 463,772 shots are administered to North Dakotans. Residents are urged to hunt for more information at Health.ND.gov/covidvaccinelocator.

Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have reported 30.8 million COVID-19 cases and 557,093 deaths blaming the virus. a complete of 179 million vaccines are administered across the country, the CDC reported
