COVID-19 updates: 44 new cases in Oneida County, 7 in Herkimer County

 Fifty-one new coronavirus cases were reported in Oneida and Herkimer Counties, and ny is now offering the COVID vaccine to people over the age of 60, and more essential workers. Here is that the latest coronavirus information: 


Oneida County numbers

Oneida County reported 44 new COVID-19 cases Thursday.

The total number of cases is nineteen,788. (After further investigation, two positive cases were faraway from the previous total.)

There were 451 active positive cases, with 22 of them hospitalized in Oneida County — 18 within the Mohawk Valley Health System and 4 at Rome Health. Two are home residents. There are three residents hospitalized outside the county.

There were 451 people in mandatory isolation and 744 in mandatory quarantine.

So far, 18,938 positive cases are resolved. There are 574,796 total negative results and 594,584 tests administered.

Herkimer County numbers 

Seven new COVID-19 cases were reported as of 11 a.m. Thursday, consistent with Herkimer County Public Health.

That brings the entire number of lab-confirmed positive test results to five,516 since March 13, 2020.

There are currently 46 active cases within the county, with eight patients hospitalized. a complete of 5,372 people have recovered from the virus; 98 people have died.

There are 110 people in mandatory quarantine; 20 were released. Another 115 are in precautionary quarantine; 15 were released.
